Voters will learn more, and the truth, about Heath Mello’s record as state senator in a new TV ad launched by the Stothert for Mayor campaign.
The facts are Mello voted to raise the gas tax but opposed a tax cut for individuals, families and businesses. He also voted for more and more state spending.
“Heath Mello would take Omaha in the wrong direction by raising our taxes and crushing jobs,” the ad’s narrator says while Mello’s car careens down the street in reverse to symbolize his taking the city backwards.
Meanwhile, the ad cites continued successes of Mayor Stothert’s administration: 12,000 new jobs created, two property tax rate cuts and 56 new police officers.
